I believe in teaching my clients how to treat themselves with love and compassion. I encourage them to look within from a lens of acceptance and curiosity to help them on their journey to be their best selves. I truly believe that we all do the best with what we have at the time and work from that mindset when exploring our past and the challenges we have faced that sometimes hold us back from moving forward. I have a background in biofeedback, which I incorporate into my sessions in the form of breathing techniques and mindfulness that my clients find to be quite helpful.
As a child of divorce, therapy helped me through many difficult times in my life. My passion is to pass that help along to others. It is my honor and privilege to be able to walk alongside the path with my clients as they discover new ways of being and self-growth.
Three and a half years ago I became a mother and my life changed dramatically. Being a mom has been the greatest and most challenging gift of my life. I am extremely passionate about motherhood and especially enjoy working with women and men as they navigate this new phase of life.
After 10 years of teaching high school in a low-income school, I decided to go back to school as I desperately wanted to help kids in the context of their entire family system, rather than just influencing their education and then often sending them home to chaotic environments. In my education and training I found I very much enjoy working with adults as well as children. I have experience working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, anger management challenges, domestic violence (both batterers and victims), relationship problems, addiction, self-esteem struggles, and difficulties adjusting to new phases of life such as becoming a parent, divorce and much more.
